During the Regency, as it had been for centuries, "morning" was defined as the period from dawn until the main meal of the day, which was dinner. And dinner, in the country, was usually served around 5 o'clock, while it might be as late as 8 o'clock in London.

That certainly gave the ladies more time to relax in their "undress." :-)Kathryn Kanehttp://regencyredingote.wordpress.com/2009/06/12/mealtimes-of-the-regency-day/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8386077972421065740.post-36178838835762196082011-02-07T11:48:00.996-05:002011-02-07T11:48:00.996-05:00Imagine spending your days like that lol. I always thought I worked better when I was more comfortable so good for the regency era for being more comfortable than the era before.catsladyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06375770995988927860noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8386077972421065740.post-36854812817209726032011-02-07T09:19:18.059-05:002011-02-07T09:19:18.059-05:00I'm fairly convinced that the 'Undress'...I'm fairly convinced that the 'Undress' dress is much prettier than anything I choose to schlep around in all day (I mean, just the morning). I'm all about a nice pair of stretchy pants and a t-shirt - if I want to pretty it up for my husband, I'll wear a nicer shirt, but the pants stay!Elizabethhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06863958329151143572noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8386077972421065740.post-3954125989839998652011-02-07T08:55:22.880-05:002011-02-07T08:55:22.880-05:00What an interesting post!
